A refined digital presence for one of the world's leading dressage breeding studs

Mount St John is a private estate in the North Yorkshire countryside, breeding dressage youngstock and foals of the highest standard. Around thirty quality mares are bred each season, with a high proportion by embryo transfer from elite sport mares currently competing. The estate also keeps several competition horses in training with elite dressage riders.

The estate brings breeding, training and daily horse care together as one coherent operation — mares, foals and competition horses across the grounds, set within the surrounding North Yorkshire landscape.

The work

Built on WinterCMS, with a custom tool to manage the stock and map sibling relationships across the breeding lines — pacing the imagery, structuring the facilities clearly, and letting the setting and the horses speak without embellishment.

The benefits

A simple, practical catalogue site for browsing the stock, designed to work equally well on mobile and desktop. Visitors read the quality of the breeding programme at a glance, and the photography does double duty across the site and beyond — a consistent visual identity the stud can carry forward.
